Falkland Islands Gun Club – Shotgun

Wednesday evening saw a delayed start to the 2013/14 shotgun season with some unseasonably cold spring weather on offer. The first shotgun competition shoot of the season was the annual Club Down the Line (DTL) Competition and 6 shooters entered on the night.
Squad One (Mat Jenkins, Axel Rodriguez-Reid and Mike Atkinson) showed mixed results with Mat struggling to find form and all shooters suffering from the cold conditions. Mike finished top of squad one with 56 ex 75, Axel a respectable 2nd with 37 ex 75 and Mat on 30 ex 75.
Squad Two (Bono McKay, Steve Dent and Shaun Jaffray) then stepped up to the stands with Bono showing blinding form and Steve struggling to find the birds. At the end of the round Bono led the squad with 65 ex 75, Shaun took 2nd with 50 ex 75 and Steve straggled behind with 39 ex 75.
Round Two saw Axel lead the way with 47 ex 75, Mike a close second with 39 ex 75 and Mat finish on 23 ex 75.
Squad Two continued to improve with Bono shooting a 25 straight and scoring 71 ex 75, Steve 54 ex 75 and Shaun 51 ex 75.
