The FGC is going to run some Air competitions over the whole year. This year will be shot over 10 rounds on the dates detailed below.

The purpose of this competition is not prizes or awards (There may be?). The aim is to encourage more people to do shooting competitions. Competition helps improve your performance. Research has shown that the presence of a competitor can increase physical effort. Competitiveness has also been shown to increase physical motivation, such as motivation to practice a sport. So the reward other than bragging rights is the motivation to improve.

Disciplines included this year will be:

  • 10m Air Pistol (60 Shots)
  • 10m Air Rifle (60 Shots)

The competition will include an individual component and team component (Only if there are at least 6 competitors in a discipline/Class).

Individual results will be the sum of the 5 highest scoring rounds in each class.

Team results are calculated as follows:

  1. The team score is the sum of 3 highest individual scores in a given round.
  2. Points are only awarded to the 3 highest "complete" teams in the round. 3 for 1st, 2 for 2nd, 1 for 3rd.
  3. A "complete" team is 3 individuals.
  4. If there is only one complete team in a given round no points are awarded.
